About Me:

I'm married to Sandra Royster Hopkins "Ashaki Hurricane". We have two children (Bri'ana 26 & Danielle 23). I retired from Tuscaloosa County Juvenile Court as the Director of Court Services in December of 2007 and in March of 2008, I became the Chief Juvenile Probation Officer in Dallas County (Selma). We reside in Tuscaloosa County. I have been the Pastor of Trinity Tabernacle in Lisman, Alabama for the past 10+ years.

Our December meeting will be our Christmas social which will be held on Tuesday, December 15, at 6:00 p.m. at Brown Memorial Presbyterian Church. It will be a covered dish affair and you are requested to bring your favorite dish, enough to serve as least ten persons. You may invite one guest. Prospective members will be invited also. Please submit names and phone numbers to Ruby Bennett via e-mail (rsmithbennett@bellsouth.net) or call her at 345-3688.

The chapter will give Carlisa Ray, our 2009 scholarship recipient, a fifty dollar gift certificate to Wal Mart for a Christmas gift. Each member is asked to contribute to the cost of the certificate at the meeting.

Fun and games will be a part of the evening. Please bring several small gifts for prizes for the games.

Dues (fifty dollars) for 2010 will be collected at the meeting. Dues may be paid in January also.

If there are any questions, please call me at 366-9174.

Due to a scheduling conflict at Brown Memorial Presbyterian Church, the September 29th meeting will be held at the MURPHY AFRICAN AMERICAN MUSEUM,
2601 Paul W. Bryant Drive at 6:00 p.m. Raffle tickets will be distributed (this is the National Alumni Association Project that TAC-ASU benefits from). Your
presence is needed as the plans for the year are formulated.
